The South Flank project was Thermal Engineering’s largest order of Mining Chillers at the time of order and were built to service the BHP – South Flank project which was the largest iron ore mine built in WA in the last 50 years. Consisting of 2 x 115kW chillers and 4 x 200kW to service the Metso Primary and Secondary crushers respectively. This flag ship project for BHP was also a milestone for Thermal Engineering as the first production of our 200kW mining chillers which are now an integral part of supporting the larger crushers on various mine sites.
Typical of all Thermal Engineering’s Mining chillers an emphasis was placed on the safety and serviceability of the chillers. Incorporating features such as segregated extra low level voltages and valuable access for maintenance purposes, Thermal Engineering strive to make these chillers the practical choice for mission critical equipment.
